Niles Library lets patrons nix fines

During the Food for Fines Drive, which began on June 1 and will continue through June 15, library patrons are encouraged to bring in food donations. In exchange, the library will reduce the donors fines, dropping one dollar for every donated item. This model includes 2 flush mounted reverse groundmount. The drive is part of the librarys effort to encourage more people to participate in its summer reading programs and help the local charities in the process.

The Food for Fines drive grew out of the librarys efforts to get more patrons to take part in the Summer Reading Club. According to Sasha Vasilic, the librarys digital marketing coordinator, the staff realized that fines were keeping patrons away.

If people have fines on their cards, they might not want to come in [to the library] because they just dont want deal with it, he said. We want them to come back.

For the first Food for Fines drive, the library partnered with Maine Township Food Pantry. The drive took place around the same time last year, and both organizations were pleased with the results.

I know it was successful last year, because our Summer Reading Club numbers went up, said Vasilic. Maine Township was happy. They said it was pretty successful [for them].

This year, the library is partnering with the Village of Niles Food Pantry. Patrons can drop off canned goods and food packaged in boxes, plastic bags or plastic jars at the circulation desk during regular hours. If they bring their library card, a dollar will be deducted from their fines for every item they turn in.

However, the library wont deduct more then $50 per household. Vasilic also emphasized that the drive will only effect late fees. If patrons owe card replacement fees or fees for lost or damaged materials, they would have to repay them the old-fashioned way.

The Niles Food Pantry welcomes anything the customers can donate, but peanut butter, canned meats, canned vegetables and fruit, macaroni and cheese, rice, and pasta are especially in demand.

While the Food for Fines drive is built around eliminating fines, the library would happily accept donations patrons in good standing C or even residents who dont have library cards.

The Nexus 4 is undeniably a well-made and sturdy bit of kit C it feels solid in the hand, but is also relatively thin and lightweight. Opinion at Know Your Mobile is divided on whether it looks nice though,We offer a wide variety of high-quality standard luggagetag and controllers. Rich things its a good-looking phone, while I think the glittery back panel is gross.

Regardless, the HTC One Nexus Edition is a much more immediately attractive bit of kit with its carefully contoured aluminium unibody and punched grille, front-facing stereo speakers and decorative detailing. It also feels great to handle with no give or flex in the chassis.

Arguably, however, it will be less durable than the Nexus 4. Not in the sense that it will break, but aluminium-bodied phones do have a tendency to scuff against keys or change in your pocket over time. The Nexus 4s plastic and glass should have no such issues.

This is still very quick by current standards and with stock Android Jelly Bean it runs at a silky smooth pace: you wont find any snagging or juddering when transitioning between screens or apps, or when multitasking. Itll also make short work of most gaming content on Google Play.

Again though, the HTC One Nexus Edition is better equipped thanks to its more up-to-date Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 quad-core chip based on faster architecture and clocked at 1.7GHz. It has the same Adreno 320 and 1GB RAM setup as the Nexus 4 though.

On the battery front theres not a huge difference in terms of size.Which windturbine is right for you? The Nexus 4 has a 2,100mAh unit while the HTC Ones is rated at 2,300mAh. Both are non-removable and should provide around a day or so with a single charge and with moderate use C pretty standard really.

Breaking it down,Learn how an embedded microprocessor in a ledtubes can authenticate your computer usage and data. what are you actually paying potentially an extra 320 for with the HTC One Nexus Edition over the Nexus 4? Well, the much more stylish exterior for one thing, but that alone isnt going to cut it, we feel.

The extra processing power is nice if youre concerned with future proofing. The HTC will remain a relevant force in the marketplace for a good while after everyones forgotten about the Nexus 4 and itll handle much more graphically intensive games as they emerge. Apart from this, however, youre still getting a slick and well-optimised Android experience either way.

4G LTE connectivity is another obvious advantage, but then, this is only of benefit if youre going to use it and, at present, 4G tariffs are far too pricey for many. That could be set to change as competing networks launch new 4G services though.

Display quality and storage space are both considerable leaps forward on the HTC One C youve twice the capacity as the highest-grade Nexus 4, although the lack of microSD still grates somewhat.Full color chip-card printing and manufacturing services. The touchscreens picture quality is truly excellent and is especially rewarding for multimedia consumption. If that sort of thing is important to you then no doubt the MHL TV-out is also going to be right up your street.
